Our Core Objectives
Diaspora Engagement
To establish and maintain relationships with Cross River State indigenes living abroad, with a view to promoting their participation in the development of the state.
Resource Mobilisation
To mobilize financial, human, and material resources from the diaspora community for the development of Cross River State.
Investment Promotion
To promote investment opportunities in Cross River State to the diaspora community, with a view to attracting foreign direct investment into the state.
Cultural Exchange
To promote cultural exchange between Cross River State and the diaspora community, with a view to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the state.
Diaspora Database
To establish and maintain a database of Cross River State indigenes living abroad, with a view to providing a framework for engagement and participation.
Regulation of Diaspora Activities
To regulate the activities of diaspora organizations and groups, with a view to ensuring that their activities align with the development objectives of Cross River State.
Policy Formulation
To advise the government of Cross River State on policy matters related to diaspora engagement and development.
Capacity Building
To build the capacity of Cross River State indigenes living abroad, with a view to enhancing their participation in the development of the state.
Research and Development
To conduct research and gather data on diaspora-related issues, with a view to informing policy and development initiatives.
Collaboration and Partnerships
To collaborate and partner with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector organizations, and civil society groups, to achieve the Commission's objectives.
Governor's Envoy to the Diaspora
the commission will serve as Governor's envoy to the Diaspora, creating an avenue for the Governor to address Cross Riverians in form of Town Hall meetings in and outside the country.
Welfare and Consular Support
To provide welfare and, where appropriate, facilitate consular support to Cross River State indigenes in the diaspora, ensuring their well-being and addressing their challenges abroad.
